What we do

In addition to an independent expert review of the usability of your designs—whether an existing site, wireframes, artwork, or something else—we also run rapid usability tests using a variety of web services and tools to both validate our findings and gain deeper insights from real users, and we collect and analyze site metrics.

Through this process, we evaluate:

  • what’s being communicated and why
  • task flows
  • terminology
  • visual design
  • structure
  • error handling
  • and so on

We make notes and collect testing results on the current design, and looks for ways to:

  • simplify task flows
  • make valuable information easier to find
  • encourage users to take action
  • drive conversions
  • build your community and form meaningful relationships
  • make interactions more understandable
  • reduce clutter
  • prevent and detect errors
  • minimize copy
  • reduce the cognitive load
  • and so on

When this is done, we schedule a conference call with your team to go over our findings and recommendations. We also summarize the information (including design criteria to guide your future design decisions) in a concise and readable format—often a slide deck or a short, written report.

Scheduling

Reviews can generally be completed within a couple of weeks, if not sooner. Please note that some data collection may be required prior to start; this may include the addition of Google Analytics tracking to your site, allowing time for click tests to be completed, and so on.
